Mondia Swiss Instruction Manual
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ANALOG WATCHES
Setting the time (explanations in brackets refer to watches with a second hand)
• Pull the crown out completely (exactly when the second hand is at 12 o'clock)
• To adjust the hour hand, turn the crown in the most convenient direction.
• To restart the watch at the desired time, press the crown back into the normal position (exactly when the second hand points to “00”)
Note: When setting the clock, advance the minute hand past the desired time and then return it to the
backwards.
WATCH EQUIPPED WITH A DATE SYSTEM
Set the time so that the change actually occurs at midnight.
• Pull out the crown to make adjustments, then advance the hands past 12 o'clock. If the date changes, the watch will point to midnight, otherwise it will point to midday.
• Set your clock accordingly
Warning: To move from noon to midnight, avoid turning the hands counterclockwise.
CHANGING THE DATE AND DAY FOR WATCHES WITH A DAY/DATE SYSTEM
• Pull the crown out to the first click
• Turn the crown until the date appears in the date window
• Turn the crown in the opposite direction until the day appears in the window
• Press the crown into the normal position
Warning: Never change the date between 9pm and midnight. Never change the day between midnight and 4am.
CHANGING THE BATTERY
• Change the battery when it is flat; do not leave it in the watch. Ask your Mondia Swiss dealer about battery life.
• If the watch has a second hand, it will move in 2-second increments, indicating that the battery is dead (some models do not have this function). However, even if the second hand moves in 2-second intervals, the watch maintains maximum accuracy.
• To change the battery, we recommend that you go to an official MONDIA SWISS dealer
• Press the crown into the normal position
Note: Since the battery was inserted at the factory, it may happen that the battery life when you receive the watch is shorter than the specified period.
USE AND CARE OF WATERPROOF WATCHES
• Have the water resistance of your watch checked by a professional watchmaker at least once a year, and in any case, before intensive use.
• Check the position of the crown before each dive. The crown must be pushed all the way back against the case or tightened fully if it is a screw-down crown.
• Avoid subjecting the watch to sudden changes in temperature (exposure to the sun followed by sudden immersion in cold water)
• Avoid violent impacts, otherwise have the water resistance of the watch checked immediately by a watchmaker.
• Avoid manipulating the crown or buttons while diving or when the watch is wet
• After immersion in sea water, rinse the watch with drinking water
• Do not try to open the watch, always contact a professional watchmaker
MONDIA WATERPROOFING
• NOT WATERPROOF: Avoid using in humid environments. If the watch has been wet, we recommend having it checked by an authorized MONDIA SWISS dealer or service center.
• WATER RESISTANT 30 m (3 Atm): the watch can be accidentally wetted, but must not be immersed or exposed to a pressurized jet.
• WATER RESISTANT 50 m (5 ATM): the watch can be worn for swimming in the pool. The watch is not designed for deep diving or surfing. Do not use the buttons under water.
• WATER RESISTANT 100 m (10 ATM): The watch is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and other aquatic activities without deep diving. It can be worn in the sea or pool. It is not recommended for scuba diving.
• WATER RESISTANT 200 m (20 ATM): the watch is suitable for professional diving and underwater activities at moderate depths. It can be used in open water. Make sure the crown and buttons are always tightly closed before diving.
